Candice and I stopped at Chipotle in Polaris Sunday evening. I really enjoy spending my money in Marion, but when it comes to Chipotle it’s really hard. I like the Marion Chipotle just fine, but it really is lacking when compared to those at Polaris and in Columbus. For the most part, I really can’t put my finger on why, but there are a couple differences.
The first is the amount of food you get. I would assume that maybe the Marion location is watching their food costs more closely and that’s why their portions are smaller. Then again, at several locations in the Columbus area, I have seen the same, larger portions. So the Marion location seems to be in the minority.
The other difference is harder to pin down. It’s something about the atmosphere. The Marion location just lacks…something. I don’t know if it’s because the Columbus locations have a majority of their employees being Hispanic, but that seems to be the main difference. There is just a different, better feel in those restaurants.
Either way, we ate way too much, but enjoyed it all. And yes, I do still frequent the Marion location. One day maybe my business card will actually get pulled for free burritos.
